Spencer

So, I've been having so much fun creating this blog and sharing current events of my kids but after reviewing the blog I've realized it almost looks like I have just two children. You all know I have three wonderful, beautiful children. My Spencer has grown up and we don't have as many opportunities now to take pictures of his current events. I thought I'd remedy this problem and scan in just a couple old pictures. I have tons and tons of pictures of Spencer, being my first child, I've taken more pictures of him as a baby and toddler than Evan and Tori combined but I thought I'd just share two pictures of my oldest son whom I've been very blessed to be his mother.

First here's adorable Spencer in Fall of 1989 trying to fill Grandpa Clawson's shoes and wearing a hat from Mexico (obviously).


This second photo was taken Fall 2004 when we tried our first attempt to hike to Stewart Falls. We started the hike at Sundance without realizing what a super long hike it is from Sundance, we needed to start the hike a little above Sundance. We gave it a try and didn't make it to the falls but we got some great pictures along the way of the beautiful fall leaves.

Back to School

Evan and Tori started back to school August 21. With Evan starting in 7th grade, junior high, and Tori in 6th grade, the senior class at the elementary, they were both actually excited to start school this year. They both looked so cute and I love always getting pictures of them on their first day with their nice, new school clothes. It's always been fun for me to see their style and choice of clothing for their first day of school. They were both so good about getting up and getting ready. This year Evan has to be to school a whole hour earlier than last year and I was very impressed with how he got up, using his cool ipod alarm clock, and got dressed, ate breakfast, brushed his teeth, fixed his hair (which is a long drawn out process) and was ready early. Tori also did a great job getting ready on time. With Tori it takes her A LOT longer to wake up and get moving. She'll usually wake up and go into our room and lay down to watch tv for 1/2 an hour and then finally is awake enough to get up, dress, fix hair, and brush teeth. I still haven't gotten her to eat breakfast but someday I hope she realize the importance of a good breakfast. Until then, I'm just glad that we can get her up and moving in time for school.

Final Summer Vacation

August 14-15 was our final end-of-summer vacation. We decided it would be fun to go to a hotel where it was hot and had a great pool so we chose the Casablance in Mesquite, NV. It was definitly HOT and they did have a great pool, however, after enjoying the smoke-free environment in Utah it was very hard to adjust to the very smoky environment at the hotel. Oh well, we did have fun at the pool and Tori and Marcy had fun getting pedicures while Todd and Evan went golfing... all in all we had a great time. I didn't get enough pictures but have posted the few I did manage to take.

Tori Mowing the Lawn

About two weeks ago, I woke up to the noise of the lawn being mowed. I went outside and found my little Tori helping her Daddy mow the lawn by using the riding lawn mower. She looked so dang cute and just silly on the mower I had to take these pics and share them with you all. Tori really enjoys doing this with Dad. He will mow the hills on the grass and she will ride the mower around on the even parts of the lawn. What a team!

Evan's 13th Birthday July 31, 2007

July 31, 2007 Evan turned 13 and we had a great day celebrating. In the morning, we gave him presents from the family and he loved them all! That afternoon we all went to see the Simpson's Movie, which Evan has been dying to see, and he really enjoyed the movie although me and Todd kept thinking it was like paying to watch a regular Simpson's show. That evening Evan had his birthday party with three friends. We took them bowling and got a kick out of watching his friends with all their kooky personalities. After bowling, we came back to the house for a sleepover which involved lots of soda, candy, cake, icecream, video games and no sleep. They didn't get to sleep until 5am! All in all I think Evan had a great day.
